The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go
Something I believe in whole heartedly is continuing to learn and grow as a creative! The moment you stop learning is the moment your art grows stagnant. Challenging yourself to push beyond your comfort zone by trying new techniques, experimenting with different equipment, and seeking out constructive feedback is crucial to elevating your business.
Learning can come in many forms, such as attending workshops, taking online courses, collaborating with other photographers, or trying out different techniques. Early in April I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a workshop that included a beautiful styled shoot. I have been so busy I haven’t had a ton of time to devote to the images I took but recently I set aside a few hours to edit a handful to share!
Growing up, I'll be honest, I wasn't always interested in learning. School felt like a chore and I struggled to find the motivation to engage in my studies. However, fast forward to today and I am absolutely passionate about learning. As a wedding photographer and business owner, I've come to realize how important it is to keep learning and growing in my field. Every shoot is a chance to improve upon my skills. I'm constantly seeking out new resources, reading up on the latest trends, which is why it is mind boggling that this is the first workshop I have ever attended! It's opened my eyes to the kinds of experiences that are out there and now I am hungry to participate in anything that can help me find those transformative, little gold nuggets of new information. Learning truly can be a life-long experience and I'm excited to see where my continued pursuit of knowledge will take me next!
